Fast-fashion retailer H&M is ramping up its sustainability efforts with a major new recycling initiative. This week, H&M announced that it will launch the world’s first global clothes recycling program . The company says it will help its customers avoid textile waste by accepting items of clothing from any brand and in any condition. It doesn’t change the fact that H&M produces low-quality, disposable clothes that are made in sweatshop-like conditions , but it’s a step in the right direction.
